Day 2 No More Big Fat Wedding

Hi Welcome to my Pre Wedding Fitness tips how to look and feel super gorgeous on the big day.
Don’t leave it to the last minute, start now and aim for a 1/1.5lb weekly loss that you can maintain and create great eating habits that stay with you for life.
How are we going to do that? Well as I said yesterday its not just about following a diet its about changing that hard wiring in your head that has for years encouraged you to make the wrong choices. Today we are looking at making ourselves aware of this and identifying yourself when those wrong choices occur and why.
First of all don’t believe that you have always been overweight.When you where born you were not born fat, weight is something that you have put on over time. Something you have been doing automatically over many years by making wrong choices.
Eg. Eating when your not hungry.Do you eat when you feel any of the following feelings?
Bored, Tired, Frustrates,Sad, Jealous,angry,excited,fat,Stressed?
It is really important to be able to identify what type of food you reach for during these emotions as then we can start to re wire your head.
People often believe that they were born fat or their parents used to overeat so they all have ‘big appetites’ or they can never change.
All this is just not true, it just does take time to re-train the mind into good choices. If you consistently tell yourself that you don’t like exercise and you could never like vegetables then guess what ..You won’t!
As I said yesterday start by making comfortable changes and when you have accepted that make a few more comfortable changes…
This may seem unreal to you but it really is just a matter of repeatedly doing something to make a new habit. The brain is a very sophisticated tool so give it a job and it will deliver.
For today just take notice of what little habits that you have fell into other than diet and exercise. Maybe you always park in the same space,wake up and go through exactly the same process each morning to get ready for work, watch the same things on tv. Do you feel irritable if you can’t park etc? All this is because you have wired the brain to do these daily things.
So today start to make some changes to your lifestyle, park in a different space, don’t eat whilst watching the news, change your regular latte and chocolate bar to a herbal tea and piece and fruit after your stressful meeting.
Well done you are on the way to re-wiring your mind for life its that easy.
I am always being asked how can you eat those healthy foods don’t you find them bland? They say ‘you are lucky because you like eating salad etc.
Well I wasn’t born liking them, I can remember persuading my mum to let me eat high sugar yoghurt,crisps and a small choc bar instead of my home made dinner. That moment was exactly when I started to yo yo with crash diets wondering where I had gone wrong as surely I am eating less?
So I chomped my way through ham salads, fruit and natural yoghurt thinking give me sugar,sauce, NOW! Then slowly I started to notice the tastes of the different leaves and the taste of a film of fat on the roof of my mouth after drinking hot chocolate or eating ice cream. The salt in crisps became overpowering and like eating salted paper. Alcohol affected me easier so I was unable to drink as much and after all that I noticed how much more energised I felt, Skin and hair changed for the better and mood was always up.
All the above convinced me I was on the right path. The trade off is just a very easy choice and now a comfortable one.
However I did wean myself off steadily, ie Chocolate changed to Jelly babies to Dried fruit to fruit to veg and hummus.
