How happy are you? How fit do you feel?
Are you investing time in yourself and your wellbeing?
Are you feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin making changes to a healthier you? Make one resolution this year, give your body the attention it deserves .

Being healthy takes a lot less time than you think.. It can save you time ..

The most common used phrase I hear after clients begin their first week of exercise is “I feel so much better already’!

First we have to address the barriers to starting healthy lifestyle changes.

Time Poor is the most common one of 2010’s

Our phones now highlight how much screen time we are using, so the instant reaction is to stop trying to use our phones and gain time back.

However its not the time on the phones that is the issue here as we have a fantastic fitness device in our hand.

Its about exactly what  you look at in that screen time?

Take your phones out and look at what you spent your browsing time doing yesterday.

Then see if there is a window in there that you could have spent that time doing
short early morning/ lunch hour or post work 20 minute workout video or researching a healthy fast 20 minute recipe that you can prepare for work/dinner in the evening.

Use your phone apps in conjunction with your smart fitness watches, set yourself new step challenges, team up with your work colleagues.

Find an online plan that will support and guide you to your goals.

Reviews : So, Lean and Clean

“When I started this plan I was wearing a (stretchy) size 20 trouser

have just had to return some size 18’s as they were too big

and the 16’s aren’t tight, in fact have also bought a pair

of size 14 leggings! Sooo exciting”

“Gail Abbey I decided to stay on because I know I’ll lapse

otherwise and the support on here is desperately needed.

Whenever you’re having a bad day it’s like having

your own private therapists and a confessional

priest all built into one”

“Gail Abbey I have got to say, if someone had told me

6 weeks ago that I would be eating fish and enjoying it

(unless it was from the chip shop)

I would have thought they had gone mad!

Can’t believe how I have changed, especially having fish for breakfast!

It’s amazing!!!”

“Gail Abbey. Great results. Love being part of this,

everyone is so supportive.

I’ve been to lots of slimming groups an have felt quite the outsider,

but this is ace! Xxx “

What A fantastic June 2016 SoSpa Fitness & Fun Holiday !

October 22nd, 2016 | Posted by Gail in SoSpa Fitness and Fun Holidays | Yoga - (Comments Off on What A fantastic June 2016 SoSpa Fitness & Fun Holiday !)

I can’t describe what fun the June Ftness Holiday was and I can’t believe where the summer went can you !

Here are just a few of the reviews and the pictures from our wonderful week !

I have not long returned from my first (but not the last!) So Spa fitness holiday, and just wanted to say that it was a very wonderful experience, one that I would whole-heartedly recommend as it is such a multi-faceted (proper fully inclusive!) personal reset that almost every girl I know would benefit from. Super results and not just physical, along with fun, sun, much laughter and relaxation too. I tend to value results/progress as a general principle and have done a number of fitness holidays/boot camp type holidays but they don’t compare. I’m home now lighter, brighter, toned and feeling great!. Many inches and pounds lost, and since my return further inches and pounds have peeled off with great ease due to the ‘inside’ training – having eaten so healthily and deliciously too. Thank you So Spa team! Jacqui Lennon June 2016

What To Do When The Fat Won”t Shift

September 20th, 2013 | Posted by Gail in So Lean And Clean - (Comments Off on What To Do When The Fat Won”t Shift)

Hi. Welcome to my weekly fitness newsletter, bringing to you the answers to questions I get asked daily about nutrition, health and exercise.

Today I am going to explain to you about the times when the theory of calories out/calories in, can appear to be a myth!
I myself have experienced this situation and one thing you must never do is give in on this situation, for me I can put it to use as personal experience and pass on advice to others but for clients , these times can be very frustrating. Below I’m sharing my methods to help you.

I don’t know about all of you but the last six weeks appears to have been another big change in many peoples lives. Listening in across the board family and relationships have been prevalent in change. When these major changes occur they can rock our routines if we allow, or we find our daily routines have to change. This is a time when exercise often lapses but really it can be a huge benefit in getting you through changes, both mentally and physically. Ardent exercisers often live the mantra , eat , sleep workout to get through these phases. Possibly not where everybody sees themselves but maybe try and keep that balance in , even set yourself a short term challenge to help you through the change transition.
Summer has been a busy one in the fitness industry and fortunately no dip ,fitness holidays are on the up and businesses are seeing the importance of offering more health and fitness benefits within their companies. I am enjoying both these booms right now and if you wish some advice at what you can offer to your employees then please mail me at gail@sospa.co.uk. for a prospectus or a chat. Sospacorporate offer many packages.

I am on fitness holidays from 2ND to 23rd October in Greece. If you wish to join my on line training to keep on track while I am away then mail me and we can train together on line daily.

The weight won’t shift…
You’re at a loss. You don’t know what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to matter how much you know about diet and exercise, or how much you do diet and exercise, those extra kilos won’t budge.

You’ve tried eating healthier and exercising harder, but it makes no difference. In fact, it seems to cause you to eat more of those ‘bad carbs.’ No matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to stop this vicious cycle. You feel fed-up, annoyed and disheartened and you don’t know what to do.

It’s demoralising for a smart, intelligent and educated woman, who is successful in most areas of her life, to be beaten by the seemingly simple task of losing weight. It seems like it should be so easy; What has worked before just isn’t cutting it now,cut the calories, up the exercise, create an energy deficiency and weight loss occurs. It’s simple mathematics. But it’s not adding up for you at the moment! In fact, you are gaining the opposite result. What is going on here? Are you stuck forever in this vicious cycle? Or is there a way out for you?

You’ll be happy to know there is a way out. ‘What a relief’, I hear you say! So how about I explain why you’re stuck.

Now the main reason why these kilos won’t budge no matter how hard you try is because of a nasty hormone called cortisol. It is released when you feel stressed. The more stressed you feel, the more cortisol is pumped into your body. Cortisol’s role is to store body fat to see you through the stressful times. It causes you to ‘eat more’, put on weight and keep that weight on so that you’ll be safe! Great!
It’s not because you can’t lose weight, you can and will again. it’s because your hormones are keeping you fat.
Here are three pointers that I tell my So Lean And Clean People.

Check 1

Be willing to accept that ‘doing more’ is not going to achieve your goal. Yes, keep with your ‘healthy eating’ and regular exercise, without wiping yourself out, but ‘doing more’ is only causing you more stress and the stress is making you fat!

Check 2

Find methods to help you relax. There are many ways to ‘slow down’.IE. yoga, meditation, prayer or slow walking in the park or beautiful space. Be willing to open your mind to which method is best for you.

Check 3

Once you find the method of slowing down that works for you, persist with it. It takes time, at least three months, to experience the full benefit. The more your body releases the stress, and the less you create the stress, the less cortisol you will produce. The less cortisol you produce the less you will crave those ‘bad carbs’, the more the kilos will come off. Problem solved.
When you do exercise , try short bursts of exercise to awaken your rhythm and metabolism. Don’t choose this time to start long endurance training such as marathon training. Choose an exercise that you enjoy and can sing along to during the short bursts , or have a laugh with a friend at the same time. This will keep you from thinking of any problems or that you should be some where else negative guilty feelings.

Please note So Lean And Clean On line nutrition plan begins every Monday.
