Hey so what! We are not looking or feeling like a supermodel yetand yes there is always going to be someone sitting by that we admire their shapely legs,flat tum whatever.

We are what we are after trying to follow a healthy and fun lifestyle,so enjoy that holiday.

I have made a list of just seven things you can do to feel nice on the beach leading up to that well hard worked for/earned much needed holiday.

1) I know I have banged on about it before and you should have been doing it all along. DRINK LOTS OF WATER.If you struggle to drink the required average 2 litres then try replacing your hot drinks with hot water and a slice of lemon.This can help speed up a sluggish digestive system, eliminate toxins,clean internal waste and give you more energy and the big one.A flatter tum!

2) Practice your posture.Good posture makes you appear taller and slimmer.Focus especially on sitting posture.Correct sitting helps the digestive system and reduces the chances of becoming bloated.You will also be keeping the tummy and back strong after those weeks of fab abs workouts

3)Find a good healthy eating plan and ditch the Caffeine,Refined foods,Processed and alcohol they will all sabotage fat loss.

4)Ditch the foods that retain water,grains like bread,rice,pasta,cakes and biscuits.These foods tend to hold water in the gut. Being an IBS sufferer for years and learning to control it by not eating my trigger foods which for me one being not eating fruit after a meal.Keeping food diaries you can see what maybe your bloated trigger foods.

5) Workout wind up.So you are busy packing for the family,no time to fit that workout in? Wrong! If you have trainers get them on and do 15 mins of power walk intervals the road.

Jog or sprint intervals down to the end of the street and back or around the garden.
We can almost all of us find a 15 minute break twice in the day so be ready mentally and get down on a 15 minute mini circuit quickly moving from squats

6)If you do find yourself with a free hour for a class or personal training session,try an hour of Yoga,it will de stress you with all that last minute preparation lower your cortisol levels, leave you feeling super toned and teach stress busting techniques you can easily use 10 minutes each morning whilst you are away to set you up for the day during your holiday.

7) Finally relax and enjoy.Worry and anxiety about how we shape up compared with the next supermodel on the beach is not what health and fitness is all about.Kick back,chill and you are far more likely to be more active than when you are focusing totally on being Elle Macpherson or Matthew Mconaughey.Get up play with those beach balls,walk along the sand and make a splash.You have arrived.

Short On Time To Workout?

Choose HIIT Workouts when short on time or in small spaces,excellent for those days when you have to go away with work and only have a hotel room facility to do your thing.
Slip one of these 10 min workouts into your 45 mins between the works conference and evening meal and you will be staying with the program . Your best kept secret !

Set your stopwatch for 1 minute with 10 second intervals and work through these exercises once or twice around .

or if you have just had a birthday month like me,

WHEN LIFE SENDS YOU LEMONS,grab tequila and salt!

The beauty of life is that its unpredictable and challenging or we would all just get bored don’t you agree?

But do you wake up sometimes and think WOW! How did that mountain of muck land in my garden!?

You get your head around shovelling it and BAM the ground opens up and you start falling in.

You become weaker and then starts the SPIRAL OF STRESS.

You become LATE FOR APPOINTMENTS,

You ignore the family, they then have more problems as you have been focusing on sorting yourself out.

You MISS THE IMPORTANT STUFF

Then you have more grief .

Its kind of what happened to me this week when my family lost our beloved pet dog.

So you see when I say MAKE YOURSELF a PRIORITY, its because peace and tranquility in your life begins with you.

If you are frantic then you can guarantee that people and animals who are close by will mirror you.

HEY DON’T TAKE LIFE TOO SERIOUSLY, NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY!

Just chillax , get a white board and make new lists. Do your immediate important lists of life and move out from there.

Sit on the floor with your legs together and extended in front of your torso. If your torso is leaning back, it may be because tight hamstrings are dragging the sitting bones toward the knees and the back of the pelvis toward the floor. It may be helpful to sit on a blanket or a bolster to lift the pelvis.

A simple way to check alignment is to sit with your back against a wall. The sacrum and the shoulder blades should touch the wall, but not lower back or the back of the head. Put a small rolled-up towel between the wall and the lower back to help

New SoSpa fitness venture.
I was recently approached by Whittington cricket club to see if I would put some fitness classes on in their newly built club.
It has a great hall and floor for workouts and changing facilities. Sending flyers out I received a great response and ran a survey with locals to see what types if classes they wanted to see on the timetable . Yoga, was a huge request and fat loss classes for the New Year.
Recruiting excellent staff to work in the Sospa team.
Lee Roberts and I have put together an excellent start up program of classes .
Yogailates which is a fusion of yoga and Pilates exercises ,
Gforce 10 a Hi / lo intensity circuit / drill style workout great as fat burn program .
Old Skool conditioning – a lo aerobic and toning workout set to 70/80 and 90 tunes.

I have had THE most fun start to the week on a Corporate job at Twickenham Stadium taking two of my colleagues, who some of you probably recognise as Lee Roberts and Geraldine Agnew.

SoSpa Corporate was asked to host a Fitness bootcamp for at Twickenham Stadium for 110 delegates and split them into smaller groups for Beginner/int/adv level training where we instructed on agility training with cones and ladders,HIIT, some core strength and a taster run or sprint session.
It was a huge WOW factor walking through the tunnel into the fabulously well managed and maintained venue, when I am next flagging in the gym I will draw from the visual memory of that workout to push the extra mile! I love the corporate work its so varied and thats a hugely important part of maintaining an excitement and freshness in work. August is often the quietest month for me and I generally get away on holiday but this year have worked through as it has been surprisingly busy.
